How was the fight? For me, I consider da fight as peak of Buu Arc, along with Goku vs Kid Buu Guess their Manga fight was lackluster, but the Anime realized the importance of this fight & made it a memorable one. Their 2 minutes brawl in Ep 232 (animated by Tadayoshi Yamamuro) would put any shounen fight to shame. |

I don't really recall the anime fight too well. It was impressive compared to the others for its time - many of which were near misses or went largely undeveloped, the 25th tournament matches being one such example. You could just tell that Toriyama was burnt out on the series at that point by his lack of detail and haphazard handling of the arc as a whole. Even with Toei having vastly expanded the fabled rematch between Goku and Vegeta, it still pales in comparison to the brutal and bloody death match they had back in the Saiyan arc. |

I agree Though I'd say the comparison & subsequent criticism as unfair Saiyajin Arc Goku vs Vegeta was ABOUT the fight The entire Arc was built for its climatic showdown between the 2 Saiyans. Its only natural for Toriyama to put his all into the fight Buu Saga Majin Vegeta vs Goku was part of build-up for the actual plot: Buu's hatch & subsequent after-effects Just like Videl getting smashed by Spopovitch, Gohan getting his energy stolen & Piccolo/Krillin getting turned into stone were part of story, Majin Vegeta vs Goku were build-ups. So guess its only natural for AT to emphasize less on the brawl, just like he did with Vegggie vs Pocus |

Honestly this fight is far superior than the saiyan Arc fight for me. The characters are so much more developed and their array of attacks are so much larger. |

The Manga fight was obviously a huge let down, so I'll talk about the anime fight. It's possibly my favourite fight in the whole series, much prefer it to their original battle. You could really feel like this was the rematch that was waiting to happen since the Saiyan saga. |

Their anime fight was amazing, allowing for some of the best animation of the series. I wouldn't call it the best fight, but in terms of just visuals, fluidity and all that it was pretty damn good. The manga version sucked. It's just another point of why I feel Toriyama uses Vegeta like a tool and just uses him as a plot device. This didn't feel anything like the legendary rematch, or even a Goku vs Vegeta fight. This was simply a little padding that Toriyama used, as quickly as possible, to get to Boo and was it happened, the fight was over. From the moment the fight starts to the moment it ends, if you put it all together, would have been lucky to have lasted half a chapter. You knew this wasn't about the fight, this was about getting Boo here and as usual, Vegeta was the person Toriyama likes to use to get the plot rolling. |

We barely got to see the manga version, which was disappointing, but the anime version was definitely entertaining. |

My favorite fight from the entire series, it was just so awesome to watch. Martial arts, ki attacks, equality, animation, hype, and so many others, it was just soooo great. Obviously I'm talking only about the anime which was made perfectly. The manga fight sucked cause it was short and plainly bad at least compare to the Anime version. |

good, but cant beat the classic. The first fight between them was awesome, the second one got overshadowed by the cell vs goku fight. I mean that was way more fascinating |

Well, compared to others battles, including their first battle, their rematch wasn't that special. But I wouldn't go as far as stating that it sucked either.

Entertainment-wise, I prefer the anime version of Round 2 to Round 1 (manga/anime). It's just so much faster-paced and has more of a variety, and it's not so one-sided either way like Round 1 was most of the time (Vegeta had the advantage, then Goku with Kaioken, then Vegeta with Oozaru, on and on). Round 2 was grittier and more about a personal vendetta than saving the planet. The manga version was total a***. It was, what, a few pages maybe? And it kept being interrupted by what was going on with Boo. We barely got to see anything. It didn't feel like the rematch we'd been waiting for. It felt like just another fight. You could've replaced Goku or Vegeta with any other character and it wouldn't have changed anything. |
